Travis is a son, he has no bedroom, tired a lot

Lena is in her sixties, a grandmother, has faith, strong

Most everyone in the house seems to be unhappy about thier lives in someway or another. Also each person has their own unique dream they hope to fullfil by using money from the check. My is that the check is going to cause problems. Just as stated in the bible, ” money is the root to all evil.”

Ruth: Tries to keep the house running smoothly and is informaly incharge of the order of things, but wearing herself out with all the work. Only in her 30’s and already her passion for life is deminished.

Travis: Young boy trying to live a full life when only half of life’s nessesities are supplied.

Walter: Ruth’s husband that at 35 is learning the harshest lessons life has to offer. He is growing upset at all around him because his life is quickly going down hill and he knows it and believes it is in result of the lack of support from his family.

Beneatha: Walter’s sister who is going aganist the flow. She knows what she wants (to be a doctor) and doesn’t wish to settle or give up her happiness for a stable life.

Lena (mama): Widow who is attempting to keep her family together and to live purely with guidance from God. Her check for $10,000 is her ticket to giving those she loves what they deserve. She’s a self-less woman and is trying to make it in a dog eat dog world.

RUTH: She is the mother of Travis and Bennie And the wife of Walter. she tries really hard to et the approval of everyone but especially Walter and Lena.

TRAVIS: He is Ruth’s younger son and is very into family and knows everything that is going on and loves his mom and dad.

WALTER: He is the father of Bennie and Travis, and the wife of Ruth. He is not very complementary but when he does make a compliment he turns it right back around.

BENNIE: She is the oldest daughter of Walther and Ruth. She is Kind of a know- it - all.

LENA/MAMA: She is the grandmother of Bennie and Travis, and the mother of Walter. She is not a fan of Ruth but LOVES Travis and would do anything for him.
