I see school as a small block in achieving my goal but its not a great one but a true one is my age i’ve always heard that i’m not quite old enough to do that now but i think thats going to change!

I think the main barriers to my dreams, are my age for one. Because lots of the things i want to own and have are only achievable when you are indeed older. ike cars, and homes. Also my wealth as of now. I dont really hve any money or major funds to my name. But when i become old enough to work i will be able to make money in larger quantities. Also my BIGGEST Barrier. Is peoples perception and attitudes twords this world. I want to live in a world free of gas and oil prices becoming apart of everyday conversation. I want us to talk about how beautiful the skies are not how much gas costs. i want a more clean world. And that seems currently immpossible.

trying to acheve a dream that is rational and practical going for something that can be done but is not to hard also there are alot of people that are going to bring you down or try to stop you from acheveing something the biggest barrier for anyone in acheve a dream is theirselves in my opinon.

The biggest barrier to achieving my goals and dreams is time and loss of inspiration. A lot of times, when i make a goal, i work hard toward achieving that goal for maybe a week or two. Then things might get in the way and i wont be as fired up about the goal and i let other things consume my time instead of trying to achieve the goal.

To me the biggest barriers would be breaking free from what other people want and expect you to be. You need to be sure that the dreams and goals are really what you want and not something someone is telling you to do.

The biggest barriers to achieving my goals are probably my fear of failure or of rejection. Also the reality, sometimes my goals are just a little too big, and i need to learn to set smaller goals and inch my way towards the bigger picture.

I don’t really think that there are any barriers in achieving my goals and dreams. I think that i can reach any goal i would like if I put my mind and effort to it. Now that maybe a barrier because its the if and the how much i try part. I just want to be very successfull in my future but I just have to work really hard and put much effort into what I do. Any goal can be reached if one really tries and wants to. Much hard work will be involved, but it can be done.

I think one of the biggest barriers to achieving my goals and dreams is getting into the mindset to do it. I can easily get down on myself, which leaves little energy or encouragement to pursue what I want to do with myself and my life. It’s hard to convince myself I can do it, and it’s hard to take the criticism of others.

Eveyone has barriers that keeps them from achieving thier dreams. I think that the biggest barriers would be lack of education, money, motavation, or acceptance. It depends on what their dream is, it could be a career or a life achievment it takes time and some people don’t have the patience. They want for it to happen fast and have a hard time with sticking with it.

I think the biggest barrier to achieve your goals is nothing other than yourself. Because you have to be willing to give enough effort and work hard enough to achieve the goals that you set for yourself. However, there are outside obstacles such as important people in your life that are not supportive in your quest for your desired goal, as well as your health. Because who knows, you might be diagnosed with a disease that makes you unable to chase your goals.

I think that the biggest barriers to achieving dreams are when other people don’t believe you can do it, or when others try to stop you from doing whatever your dream is. Another barrier is failure. Many people give up hope after they have failed over and over again.

I will admit to be one who wants to take the easy way out. Sometimes your goals and dreams seem so far fetched and burdensome that it may feel like its not worth all the hard work. Its a horrible quality and I should be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my ambitions. Thinking something is too strenuous or “out or your league” should never stop you from accomplishing something worth while.

Definiatly one of the largest barriers for me will be college. Getting into the school I want and having a chance to prove my myslef worries me the most. Seeing my sister’s great accomplishments only makes me more scared of failing and places the question of doubt in my mind. So as odd as it may sound, I guess one of the biggest things blocking my path to achieving my dreams is myself…and believing that I am good enough to do what I want.

The lack of time, and money, and possibly college education could be barriers from pursuing your dreams.

mostly i think its the people that stand in front of you and tell you that you will never be able to do that. I am really annoyed by all negitivity people have sometimes, when they’re feeling bad they always try to bring you down with them, and that just ruins your day sometimes. So whenever i have a bad day i always remember to be as positive as posible to give support to others and their dreams.

I think the biggest barrier would be myself. Sometimes I get lazy and tell myself I don’t really care anymore. There are times when I don’t want to put in the extra work because I feel like taking the easy way out. One of my goals is to graduate with a 4.0. Unfortunately, I am far from this. I know I could be trying harder, I just get so tired sometimes and lose hope. I need to remember what is most important and prioritize my work.

I think that the biggest barrier to achieving your goals are other people. You hear people say to you that maybe you cant do something or it won’t work out. Then you believe them and you stop bringing them up. You have road blocks that keep you from achieving them and some don’t try to fix it.

the biggest problems that i have when trying to achive my dreams and goals, in Track and skiing it is the evil clock. also that alot of my dreams are way to far fetched to even be reached

I think that the motivation to do what it takes to follow a dream is the biggest barrier. If your dream means you have to move, that could be hard to do. If your dream involves a lot of work for a long peroid of time, it can be hard to stay motivated.

I think the biggest barrier is yourself and the people around you. Sometimes you lose hope and ambition from within because you think well, that could NEVER happen, it’s too big of a dream or there is no way i have the connections to do that. Also the people around you influence you and sometimes discourage you from achieving your dreams and goals because either they have no hope in you or are jealous that you have such high hopes for yourself.

ROAD BLOCKS!!!!!!
They’re so many of these, some bigger and than others making them even harder to get around. The first thing that comes to mind that affects so many peoples dreams and goals is MONEY. Money causes so many issues throught out life and is needed everywhere. The second thing that comes to mind are those put- down people. These people always tell you that you will not succede whatever it is you’re trying to reach. They never encourage you to keep after it either. Finally the last thing I can thing of is REALITY. You need to take a self check of your dreams to make sure you can reach them. Go big or go home! Anything is possible……

Another thing to add to that is DISTRACTIONS. It can throw you off of what you intended to do.

IN RESPONSE TO QUESTION

the biggest barriers to achieving my goals and dreams? there is but one barrier for me :

time

it seems that we all spend our life, racing to grow up, for it seems (to me) that we are not able to achieve many of the goals and dreams that many of us aspire to do when we are but young … and this is for many reasons … inexperience : parents : friends : schooling : etc … so we race to grow up … but once we are “old enough” to be able to pursue our dreams, it seems that there is never enough time … that we are always trying to find ways to cheat death because we believe that we have not lived life to the fullest if we don’t complete that “one last thing” … our “big dream” … but that is not necessarily so … for we must take our experiences and lessons learned on the journey to our dream as a gift … for how else would we have learned that (lesson) ? the point I am trying to make (in short) is that life is too short to dream … one must not dream, but ACT … start to make that dream a reality and strive to break down those barriers so all that is left is time … if one procrastinates on one’s dream, then he will also find that time is against him when he begins to fight for his dream … do not lose a dream to time … set your alarm clock and WAKE UP … time to stop dreaming and ACT …

whoo … that was a rant … I went a bit off topic, didn’t I ? … just a flow of consousness … well, I must get to other homework … yet another barrier to my dreams … because it is TIME consuming (see … every barrier can be stripped away back to the basics : time) …

i personally believe that peers are the ones who hold us back from acomplishing our dreams. they talk us out of it and make us feel bad about it but in the end its our dream and not theirs and if they were really our friends they would let us shine no matter what we wanted to do.

It’s yourself. Dreams come from yourself and your the only person who can make them a reality or keep them a dream. its cliche but you can do anything you want to. if you are willing to put in the time, the effort, and the disapointments that come with trying. and if you fail you gotta have the guts to stand back up and try again. Some people simply cannot reach the dream because when they keep getting sut down the mind convinces itsself that they are right and your not able to do achieve the dream.

Another is other people. You can have your dreams and a person or person can come by and just tear it to shreds. They may think they could have the dream or the power to fullfil their dreams and if they they gotta bring others down with them.

I think the biggest barrier for dreams is calling them dreams; you need to make them reality. If you call something a dream, most people tend to put that dream on the back burner. If you really want something bad enough, you will try your hardest to make it a reality; whatever it takes.

I also agree with Jared, that people who tell you that your dreams cannot be reached, will eventually convince you that is the truth. You just have to ignore those people and do what you think is best for you.

Some of the biggest barriers that can hold down my dreams are what other people say when I tell them about my passions or dreams. Or the belief that i’ll never achieve my dreams, because if i don’t believe that I can achieve my goals i probably won’t.

I agree with nick. i think age has a big factor in this. i also think that sometimes its good to not achieve all of your goals and dreams. There has to be that one thing out there that is stuck in the back of your mind keeping you to wanting to do it. Although i do think that by some point its good to be able to look back and say that every single dream you have ever had is accomplished
I think also that people with different opinions dont always keep us from living up to our dreams but more like different opinions tend to change your own and i think if people could stick to just what they thought that we would all be better off.

one of my biggest barriars is being afraid of failing. taking the easy way out is not always the best idea, but yet i take it many times because i am afraid to fail and if i do, i have noone to blame but myself.
another barriar is limitation set by parents, money, power, and law. if i had all of these things i would have no problem becoming the first man on mars, but i dont so i will have to work hard to reach that goal

OPPS. the past comment was TREVOR MASOTTA NOT ABBEY. didnt change user name and im too lazy to figure it out

I think that there are quite a few barriers for people to achieve their goals. The few main ones that a lot of people have already said are age and money. At our age, reaching our goals can be tough because we’re so young. Money can also be an issue because certain things take a lot of money that not everybody has. I also think that motivation becomes an issue because often people will say that they want to do something, but then feel like it will never happen so they don’t try hard enouh to make it happen. People also tend to think that if it’s out of the ordinary, it can never happen.

Right now, my biggest challenge is figuring out what my dreams are. I can’t really tell the difference between what I truly want for myself and what I hear other people telling me to do. Hopefully as I mature and grow older I will be able to discern between the two. Until then, I am just trying to do all I can to figure out what to do with my life by trying and experiencing new things. This is something I sometimes have trouble with because I like routine. It’s hard for me to try new things because I never know what I’ll get. This is something I am working on fixing.

I think one big barrier for my achievements is patience. Many times I set these huge goals and standards to go by and i follow them for a short period of time and then get tired of it, stop, then start a new goal. I expect to be able to accomplish what I set my mind to very quickly and although I know that is not the way most things work I end up giving up and starting something new.
Another is limitations and resources. I am still in highschool. For now I am just worried about graduating and beginning to think about college which takes up a good amount of time. I do not have endless resources and connections to help me along the way so give me a couple more years and I think that I will be better at accomplishing my goals.

…hopefully.

My hopes and dreams are all achievable due to how reasonable they are. I make plans to carry out my goals and figure out what to do to achieve them. People in general are the only barriers. There are some people in this world that try to keep others from achieving their goals just because they can’t achieve their own.

One is the people that don’t believe you can achieve your goals and dreams. Another is your own will to pursue that dream or goal. If you don’t feel like pursuing your goal or dream one day, it can effect whether you reach it or not so this is a huge barrier. THere ais a good quote that coach anderson said to me which is “The secret of our success is found in our daily agenda.” This is saying what I stated above which is that you need the motivation to pursue your dreams, and your motivation can sometimes be your biggest barrier in life.

i would have to say competition. Our coury is changing very quickly. There is tons more competition between students and workers to come up with the best ideas and perform better than everyone else. My dreams arnt out of reach, but there are definently a lot of people out their with similar dreams as mine, and there won’t be enough room for everyone to get what they want. I just have to perservere.

I don’t think I know There are no big barriers or small barriers to achieving my goal as long as i am alive, because i have Jesus on my side and in the bible it’s say’s if you ask in jesus name you shall recieve, now that doesn’t mean that he’s going to do everything but that means he will let you recieve it if you follow his ways and have strong faith in him…..you have to practice something that you love, give yourself discipline. Going to the NBA is going to be hard but i GOD on my side so not that hard. Im telling the truth you can achieve anything threw Jesus Christ, for all those people who don’t know.

I think a strong barrier for my dreams are time and money. Some dreams take a lot of cash that is hard to cough up at certain times in life. I want to start my flight training to become a pilot but between baseball and money its hard to acheive.

I believe my biggest barrier to accomplishing my dreams is my mind. I have to break the mental barrier and tell myslef that i can do anything, and when you get past that then you really can do anything. I also believe there are those people out in the world that put your dreams down, but you have to not listen to them and keep taking steps to accomplishing your goals. One of my main goals right now is to play college lacrosse and the barriers right now are people telling me i cant, which only makes me practice longer and harder.

My biggest barrier to achieving my goals and dreams would have to be my fear of what others will think. Also the lack of time due to shcool and sports.

right now my only raod block is not knowing what my dream is with such a great community and school really anything is possible. with so many oppertunitys i really cant make up my mind. i know i what to get a job that i love doing and support a wife and kids by doing it. Or i could continue to go for a college scolarship in rowing. it sounds like a streach but i get closer to that goal everyday.

well, i have lots of barriers- and my dreams are big… my biggest barriers are my laziness and lack of motivation, doubt in myself, and lack of material possessions like money and TIME(life is TOO short). But bigger than these is how I am afraid of how others might think of me, similar to kmatulaitis. Some of the people that I know probably wouldn’t approve of my dreams… These barriers seem to stand in the way of everything I am supposed to do and want to do.
